Description
*This session will be live-captioned from English to French.
In universities, success is often measured in the awards you win and being touted as the best, the brightest, the fastest, and the first. However, this hides the truth about what it really takes to survive and thrive in academia. Join Tier 1 York Research Chair, Dr. Rebecca Pillai Riddell for a conversation about success and more importantly failure through her personal journey. A talk for all career stages- trainees and faculty will learn about skills she developed and is developing to inoculate oneself from the pervasive plague of imposter syndrome. She will also talk about one of her research studies at the juxtaposition of inclusivity and accessibility through technology- the OUCH Lab journey to create an AI solution for infant pain assessment and how it has been a forced masterclass in patience and perseverance.
